Directions & Transportation
The Philadelphia Zoo is located at the corner of 34th Street and Girard Avenue in Philadelphia's historic Fairmount Park, the world's largest landscaped city park. The Zoo is just two miles from downtown Philadelphia and easily accessible by car from the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76). Parking is available along Girard Avenue at 35th and 38th Streets. Additional parking is available at the south end of the Zoo. Public transportation is available using SEPTA, which runs several bus routes to the Zoo area.

All buses (charter, tour, and school) should discharge and pick up passengers along 34th Street.

The Philadelphia Zoo proudly announces its special $2 trolley service between the Independence Visitors Center, 30th Street Station and the Zoo. The $2 summer-long shuttle service, provided by American Trolley Tour Company, will run 7 days per week, with pickups beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market Streets), pick-up at 30th Street Station at 20-minutes after the hour every hour and arrivals at the Philadelphia Zoo every hour on the half-hour.  Please click here for a printable version of the Zoo Shuttle Timetable below (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).
