African Plains is home to a wide variety of African animals including some of the most popular ones here at the Zoo - giraffes and a southern white rhino. This section also features two mixed species exhibits. The first is a picturesque display of two small herds of zebra and sable antelope. Directly across the path, you'll find a spacious landscape abounding with graceful Mhorr gazelles living among an impressive assemblage of large African birds, including a secretary bird, saddle-billed storks and West African crowned cranes.

You'll also find African Outpost, a majestic safari overlook that offers remarkable views of many African animals. While you're up there be sure to check out our troop of Guinea baboons and four cheetahs.
