ADOPTing an animal at the Philadelphia Zoo for yourself or a friend is both rewarding and fun.
With more than 1,300 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to feed, ADOPTions support the Zoo's annual shopping bill of over $500,000.
You can imagine shopping for apples, carrots, peas, meat and fish. Add to that crickets, hay, monkey chow and mealworms. That is exactly what the Zoo's commissary staff has to buy in order to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for the animals at the Zoo.
By ADOPTing a Zoo animal, you share your love for animals by helping ours receive the best possible care.
As an ADOPT parent you will be invited to ADOPT Day held the first Saturday in October. ADOPT Day is a special way to thank our ADOPT parents for their generous support of the Zoo's animals. ADOPT Day includes special keeper talks, behind-the-scenes tours, a cake cutting ceremony and much, much more! To participate, you must be an ADOPT parent. So, ADOPT online now!
