Duties
This intern will work directly with our Vice President of Community and Government Affairs. You will have the opportunity to interact with local, state and possibly national politicians promoting the interests of America’s First Zoo. Although this internship is unpaid, you may receive college credit.
GENERAL DUTIES:
• Research – analysis of census and market data to prepare reports
• Correspondence
• Meeting notes
• Event support
• Project support
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Junior, senior or recent graduate studying:
• Political science
• City/Urban planning
• Government policy
• Organizational dynamics
• Architecture / urban design
• Business
• Internships are open to students with at least a 2.5 GPA
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Multi-task oriented with strong organizational skills
• Highest degree of maturity, integrity and reliability.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• No allergies related to plants or animals which would interfere with your ability to work.
Availability
• Fall / Winter – twenty hours per week
• Spring / Summer – up to forty hours per week (schedule is negotiable)
• Typically a Monday to Friday schedule, but it may include weekends, evenings and holidays.
