Not all endangered species are found half a world away. Many are much closer to home. That's why the Philadelphia Zoo is committed to conservation projects that help endangered species right here in our region.
Toward this end, the Philadelphia Zoo works with organizations and agencies throughout Pennsylvania and across the tri-state area to exchange expertise and resources, implement conservation projects, provide training and field experience, and communicate information to the public through education programs and public relations.
Our regional conservation efforts include the Diamondback Terrapin project.
