Day 10

We pack up the camp and plan to stay in the hospitality center near the ferry for an early start tomorrow.  We do one last survey around camp walking out to the shoreline and see a flock of about 700 birds, mostly godwits with perhabs 75 red knots.  We see a second flock that contains only godwits, about 600.  We do add to our bird list with sightings of an American Kestrel hovering in the wind and a Tawny throated dotteral.

Back at camp after the survey and we pack everything into the truck then set out to Cerro Sombrero for our first real meal at the social club/restaurant.  The waitress used to work at Torres del Paine and gives us some good tips on where to go.  Dinner is excellent and the pisco sours are homemade.  We are all in a good mood when we get to our room for the night and a hot shower feels great after days of being covered in dust.  It feels good to be inside for the night and out of the winds for a change.
