The Channel 6 ZooBalloon

On Thursday, March 13, 2008, a team of Philadelphia Zoo employees deflated and disassembled the old
Channel 6 ZooBalloon, which has flown over the Zoo since 2002, and installed our new tiger-striped envelope. This took nearly 10 hours. This video uses time-lapse photography to condense the entire process into less than 4 minutes.
Otters At Play
Bill Feeds Lunch

The Education Department recently invited our Director of Communications,
Bill Larson, to assist in a daily feeding with Glynda, a
rainbow boa constrictor. The Zoo's camera follows him as he comes face-to-face with a very hungry snake.
Pepper Works Out

Pepper is a sugar glider who lives in the Philadelphia Zoo's
Small Mammal House. He was donated to the Zoo by a member of the public, and was very overweight when he arrived. The talented and experienced keepers at the Small Mammal House found an inventive way for Pepper to get his exercise, and shed that extra weight.
Picchu Visits The (Make-Believe) Vet

Picchu is a six-year-old macaw who lives in the Children's Zoo. Periodically, she is visited by the veterinarian, and given a complete physical to make sure she is in good health. The staff of the Children's Zoo prepare her for these visits by giving her many "practice" visits, where they examine her using "pretend" medical instruments.
