Q: How do I join the Zoo?

A: To become a Zoo member right away, join online! Or call the Membership Department Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at 215-243-5254. You can also join at the Zoo during your next visit (just note that we cannot refund your parking fee for that day.)

Q: How long will my membership last?

A: Memberships are valid for one full calendar year, so you can visit us year-round! Please note that the Zoo is closed the second Thursday in June as we celebrate Zoobilee, our annual fundraiser; Thanksgiving; December 24-25; December 31 and January 1.

Q: Is there special parking for members?

A: For 2007, members may park in any of the Zoo's lots free of charge (one car per visit). All lots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking lots are located on 34th Street and on Girard Avenue. Please use your valid membership card or Internet confirmation to obtain parking privileges. We are unable to reimburse or refund parking fees.

Q: Why do I have to show a photo I.D. when I use my card to enter the Zoo?

A: As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on membership and attendance for support. To prevent misuse of your membership cards, we ask that you show a photo I.D. We appreciate your understanding.

Q: Must I accompany guests?

A: Yes. For all memberships with guest privileges, at least one named member must accompany all guests.

Q: Can I include my grandchildren on my membership?

A: Yes. For Family memberships and above, you can list all grandchildren under 18.

Q: My membership card has been lost/stolen. Can I request a new card?

A: Yes, there is a $5.00 fee to replace lost or stolen cards. Please call the membership office at 215-243-5254 to order your replacement card.

Q: When will I get my membership card?

A: Your membership card will be mailed within two to three weeks. If you don't receive it within this time, please call the Membership Department at 215-243-5254.

Q: Can I use my Philadelphia Zoo membership at other zoos and aquariums?

A: Yes. The Zoo participates in a reciprocal program with zoos and aquariums across the country. You can check this website for a complete listing. Please keep in mind that each zoo participates with either free or discounted admission. We recommend you contact the zoo or aquarium prior to your visit for complete information regarding their policies. Please click here, for complete list.

Q: Can I purchase a membership on the day I visit the Zoo?

A: Yes. You can purchase a membership on the day of your visit. Please stop by the Membership Sales and Service window located at the Zoo's main entrance. Please note: You must have a valid membership card or Internet confirmation to receive parking privileges.

Q: Can a friend or family member use my membership card?

A: No, but you can encourage them to join the Zoo as well. Memberships are nontransferable and are valid only for those individuals listed on the membership card. Remember, a photo I.D. is required to enter the Zoo.

Q: Is my membership tax deductible?

A: Yes. For memberships purchased in 2007, a portion of your membership may be deductible. We suggest you consult your tax advisor for more information.

Individual - fully deductible
Family - $65 is deductible
Family Plus - $68 is deductible
Family Deluxe - $98 is deductible
Contributor - $152 is deductible

Q: If I decide to join after my visit, can I apply the cost of my general admission tickets towards a membership?

A: Yes, but you must purchase your membership on the same day that you purchased your tickets. Please note that some exceptions do apply. Please ask a membership representative for more details about this policy.
